Friendly Toast

June 21, 2010 by Nina

After a night of camping, Julian and I were pretty starved by the time we awoke. I remembered “The Friendly Toast” because of its catchy title. When we got there is was a ½ hour wait, so we knew it must be good. At first glance, it seemed like a friendly dinner, but once inside we realized how bizarre the décor was. My description would not do justice. Just picture the strangest nick-nacks you have ever seen in one room. The menu was huge, with eggs and pancakes to quesadillas and hamburgers. I ordered “The King” which was: two chocolate chip and banana pancakes with peanut butter in between them with caramelized bananas (tasted like bananas foster) on top and homemade whipped cream. It was everything you would want from a pancake sundae. Julian ordered the quesadilla and it was more delicious than I thought a quesadilla could ever be and then some. It sounded like an odd combination of food to me, but it was out of this world good, talking about complementing flavors! Highly, highly recommended restaurant.
