Unlike in Saugerties, Julian and I haven’t had much luck with brunch in Rochester. This past weekend, we wanted to have breakfast, so I checked Urbanspoon for a highly rated place. I found Charlie’s Frog Pond, and we decided to drive there. As I typed the address into the GPS I realized we’re looked into this restaurant before. It’s on Park Ave (one of our favorite places) and we must have overlooked it. Inside, it’s a diner-meets-corny-bed-and-breakfast feel, with frog wallpaper and yellow booths. I ordered the special, which was stuffed french toast, and Julian ordered the breakfast burrito. Though Julian’s dish was average, mine was exceptional. It was easily the best french toast I’ve had. It had the most amazing (homemade) caramel sauce and bananas on top.
