While in New York, Julian and I ate at La Carbonara. The restaurant was crowded and the tables were lit by candlelight. The food was unmemorable (we both had average pasta dishes), but what really stands out was the service. The waiters were extremely attentive, in a way I’ve never experienced. If you want to be wined-and-dined, this is the place to go!

[...] Last night we ate at Himalayan Fusion, a crowded restaurant that features Indian, Tibetan, and Nepalese food. It was located in the middle of the quaintest downtown area, similar to Ithaca or Burlington, with a cobblestone road joining rows of boutiques, ice cream parlors, and restaurants. The chai was excellent (with three packets of sugar, it tasted like Indian Chai). The food took about an hour to arrive and the waiter was the antithesis of the experience as La Carbonara. [...]
