After working up an appetite at the Veteran’s Museum, we went to Pescados (right down the street). This funky place (decorated similarly to Friendly Toast), with retro purple and lime green chairs and Rasta octopuses drawn on the bright blue and red walls, had some of the best comments I’ve seen on Urbanspoon, so I wanted to check it out. With 644-FISH as their takeout number, we thought it might just be another hipster-type restaurant with food that doesn’t deliver the quality you desire. Boy was I wrong! I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp (Wild-Caught Shrimp, Allspice, Rum, Chorizo, Torta Round, Banana, Soft-Fried Egg, Habanero) and Julian ordered the Grilled Cesar (Heart of Romaine, Red Onion, Grape Tomato, Jalepeno Cornbread, Smoked Chili Cesar Dressing), and we also got the Saffron Potato Cakes appetizer. They came, beautifully presented, and even tastier than they looked. Mine was one of the best things I’ve ever had. The sauce tasted a bit like spicy Banana’s Foster, but coupled with shrimp and sausage, it was heavenly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!

I thought mine was okay, but yours was wonderful. Worth the trip if you’re anywhere near Richmond.
