Some friends and I went here for dinner before seeing The Help and really enjoyed ourselves. I had the Ropa Vieja (shredded beef cooked with onions in a light tomato sauce served with arroz blanco, frijoles negros and platanos maduros), which was recommended to me by the waitress. It was so wonderful! The shredded beef was soft and tender, without fat (unlike with pulled pork) and the plantains were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It made a perfect meal.

This was sooo good!! Very nice waitress and good service, too. How was your drink? (BTW, we saw The Change-Up, not The Help.
)
Haha! You’re right! and my mojito was excellent. They were liberal in their amounts of mint and lime!
Definitely want to go here and try that!! Thanks for the update
The plantains sound good.
I went here finally and the Ropa Viejo was SO GOOD! Great recommendation! Jordan also ordered the rabo encendido (oxtails) and they were tasty!!
