The day after I got back from Berlin and the day I had to leave for school, Julian and I went out to eat for our 1 + 1/2 year anniversary. We went to Love Bites because Julian said they had really good brunch. I had the special of the day (chocolate chip banana waffles) and Julian had the tofu scrambler. We both had hot chocolate. The food was great. Not only the best brunch spot in Saugerties (Fez and Miss Lucys are also good), but might just be the best brunch spot period. They always have creative, new specials (at least four a day), which means that if you were to go every saturday you could always try something new (which is pretty much what I do). This is quite unique. Most restaurants have specials, but not as inventive as Love Bites’. One time, they had a mushroom that was larger than a dinner plate that they incorporated into a brie omelet! It was wonderful!
I would just like to update that I have been to Love Bites numerous times since this post, and want to reiterate how exceptional the food here is. It tastes so fresh and the specials are always creative. For example, the other day I had a Spicy Melon soup that is easily one of the most unique dishes I’ve ever had. It was outstanding. Since going to other towns with similarly priced brunch restaurant, I have really been able to appreciate the food here. The small space is adorable and no one can believe that such wonderful food comes out of the tiny kitchen.
