Julian was hard at work today, so I visited him and we went to Grimaldi’s because if you can believe it, I still haven’t been there! Grimaldi’s is the famous pizza place in Brooklyn that people wait hours in line for. You can’t order slices, and the whole menu is “create your own pizza.” We ordered the White Pizza with Roasted Tomatoes, Pesto, Artichoke Hearts, and Ricotta. It looked beautiful, but I found the ricotta was out of control, and I’m not one not usually one to say that there is too much ricotta! Usually with these “gourmet-type” pizzas there might be a tomato on one slice, but not all, or very sparse amounts of cheese gently sprinkle around, but this pizza was covered, so I have to give them credit for that. Overall, I would definitely go here again, but it’s not the best pizza I’ve had. Comparable to Pepe’s in terms of fame, but not nearly as disappointing as Pepe’s was, but still not as good as Figs or Crazy Dough.
