We went to Dolce on Saturday for breakfast and were surprised at how busy it was. It’s a cute little space, with funny artwork on the walls. I ordered the Hot Chocolate (because it said it was house-made), and couldn’t decide between homemade marshmallows or fresh whipped cream, so I just got both…oh, and with caramel sauce too! The hot chocolate itself was not that exceptional, but the marshmallows were so yummy; they tasted like vanilla ice cream. I ordered “The Dolce” (House Baked Turkey, Avocado, Fresh Mozzarella, Sun-dried Tomato Spread), which comes on House-made Focaccia and with Chips and Homemade Salsa. This sounds really good, but was actually disappointingly bland. I think the focaccia was whole wheat, and it’s flavor overpowered the rest of the sandwich, which wasn’t well seasoned. I really liked the decor and size of the space, and was honestly hoping for it to be better. To be fair, if Love Bites wasn’t so good, I probably would have appreciated Dolce more.

Update: Julian, his dad, and I went here again. Did I have the Caramel Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream and Marshmallows again? Of course! Julian had the Pumpkin Spice Pancakes (which even I liked!), I had the Zucchini Scramble, and his dad had the French Toast (which came on one large slice of Brioche-how funny!). Either I always order the wrong thing, or the sweet things are better than the savory here. They have changing artwork on the walls (I love this concept), and right now they have robots that are just so cute.
