  1. Bodega 105

    April 5, 2011 by Nina

On our way home, we stopped in Johnson City, Tennessee to eat dinner. We couldn’t decide between a German restaurant, pizza place, or Cuban, but chose Cuban because it had the best reviews. When we walked in we were struck by the tacky décor, which seemed especially strange since everyone was wearing dressy clothes. The walls had posters of martini glasses and wine bottles lined the wall to the kitchen. The (not Cuban) owner began playing jazz guitar and singing. We ordered the Enchiladas Bodega (Corn tortillas stuffed one each with spicy; beef, chicken, cheese, topped with red or green chile sauce, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion and sour cream, served with rice and beans) and Arroz Jardinero (Spanish rice with onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, and topped with chipotle cheese sauce), both of which were good and reasonably priced—and they claim everything is homemade. Overall, a bizarre experience, but sweet.
