  1. Rice Pot

    July 9, 2011 by Nina

The Rice Pot might look like your ordinary Thai food, but don’t be fooled. Their dishes are authentic as anything. I had the Beef Yum (warm thai salad), which the waiter told me was authentic. It was not really a salad, but spicy and wonderful. The flavor was like nothing I’ve ever had. A must try.

  2. Siam Fine Thai Cuisine

This restaurant is in the same plaza as Tony D’s. It is especially nice in the summer when you can sit outside along the river. Both the Panang Curry (spicy red curry sauce made with basil and coconut milk) and the Phat Phet (spicy stir fry with green beans, basil, bamboo, coconut milk in a spicy chili sauce.) are wonderful.

  3. King & I

    January 28, 2011 by Nina

The King and I is one of the best thai restaurants in Rochester. The food is wonderful and comes within 10 minutes! The Fresh Peeled Cucumber Smoothie might sound strange, but is sweet and refreshing. Their Pad Thai and curries are also great, but the Evil Jungle Prince is my personal favorite. I must say, the last time I went here my favorite dish–the Evil Jungle Prince–was not spicy at all, in fact it was quite bland, so maybe you have to specify that you want it spicy. Having said that-it’s still the best thai in Rochester.

  4. Aroi Thai Restaurant

    January 28, 2011 by Nina

I went here with Julian’s family and although the seating is nice in the summer (a patio outside), the food was below average. Certainly not the best Pad Thai I’ve had. There are better restaurants in Rhinebeck, like The TerrapinGigi’s, or Arielle.

  5. Thai One On

    January 24, 2011 by Nina

Last weekend we went to Toronto. It ended up being the coldest day of the year, with -20 degrees! But we enjoyed it. It was snowing and though it was freezing, it was beautiful. We ate lunch at Thai One On (a restaurant we’ve been to) because we had it in our memory as being delicious. It did not disappoint. We ordered the same thing we did the last time: Samosas (Malay pastries stuffed with vegetables and cheese served with Thai spicy plum sauce), Vegetarian Curry Pad Thai, and Coconut Rice. Everything was great. Easily the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot)! This remains to be the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to.
