I’ve been trying to think of what I really want to say in this post. I guess I should start by saying that I think having a noodle bar in this area (one that barely has thai food) is absolutely wonderful. And since there are few good restaurants in Woodstock, it’s really great. I’ve been waiting anxiously to go here since it opened. I must warn you that this post will be severely affected by the waitresses negative behavior. When we walked in, she stood there, hand at her hip and asked “what do you need?,” which made me think I had walked into a private party. I asked if they were open and she said we could sit down. Generally speaking, she was just plain unpleasant. After my meal was finished my mom asked if we could have a baggie, and she scoffed and said “we don’t have baggies,” and then brought over the food in containers, without a bag to put them in. It’s difficult to explain someone’s strange and rude gestures in writing, without being able to demonstrate the cold body language and rolling eyes, but just believe me that she made me very uncomfortable. But like I said I am very happy to have a noodle shop in the area, and I thought my food was good. Like most noodle shops, the portions are quite large for under $10. I had the Coconut Curry with Soba Noodles and Tofu. I thought it was funny that the tofu and hard boiled eggs were uncut, but found it difficult to cut with only the spoon. Still, I enjoyed my food, but it could have been a more pleasant experience overall. I must say I am really loving these tiny “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants we’re getting in the Hudson Valley, and I thought the decor here was especially cute.
